We were thrilled to once again gather for the Aspire Annual General Meeting.
Zoe Bawn (Chief Exec) opened the meeting with a look over the past year at Aspire. We were then gladly entertained by Dramarama who performed their colourful rendition of The Lion King. They took their bows to thunderous applause.
Dennis Holmes (Chair of the Board) then welcomed our new Chair, Sam Pawson, at the completion of his 3 year term. Dennis was pleased to announce however, that he is not leaving and will remain with Aspire as Deputy Chair.
Jo Clarkson (Finance Director) then updated us on the years finances, as we continue to run in surplus, allowing us to reinvest in our services for the people we support.
Zoe also shared our Aspire Strategy video, giving us a flavour of our plans for the next 5 years of Aspire, as well as a video on Lewis’ inspiring story of recovery. Gareth Cook (Leeds Rhinos Foundation) was so touched by the story he kindly offered Lewis a free tour of Headingley Stadium.
Gareth joined us for the afternoon as we presented our Staff STAR Awards, where we celebrate the hard work and achievements of our fantastic staff teams.
