There is only one day to go before Aspire Community Benefit Society takes over delivery of Leeds City Council’s learning disability provider services and all hands are to the pump. However, the founder members of the Society took time to reflect on what has been achieved over the past few years when they took delivery of a gigantic celebration cake.
It is fitting that, as a staff-led social enterprise, the cake was made by two members of staff – Lynn Nettleton and Sam Jones – in a marathon baking and icing session that would rival anything on Great British Bake Off.
The cake will be cut and shared with staff and guests at our event on 31st July.
