New Contract for Aspire

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve signed a 5 year contract with Leeds City Council to deliver our services.

Aspire Community Benefit Society is a social enterprise that has been developed from within Adult Social Care as a staff-led initiative. We will deliver the former in-house learning disability community support service, providing direct care and support to some of the city’s most vulnerable citizens. Aspire will become one of the largest public service mutual ‘spin outs’ in the country and will put Leeds at the forefront of this enterprising approach to dealing with pressures on public services.

Our innovative and enterprising venture will enable learning disability services in Leeds to have a long term sustainable and socially responsible future. At the same time it will help the Council to cope with the ever increasing demands on the learning disability budget.

Dennis Holmes, Deputy Director of Leeds Adult Social Care wished “the staff and people who use the service all the very best in their new enterprise” and said this is “a fantastic example of Civic Entrepreneurship”.

Aspire Community Benefit Society will launch on 1st August 2015 which, fittingly, is Yorkshire Day.
