Smile Please!

The 3rd annual Leeds Learning Disability Week Photography Competition is open for entries. This is a celebration of the wonderful diversity of learning disability which seeks to encourage people with learning disabilities to show what matters to them through photographs. The competition aims to raise awareness and improve attitudes by adding depth to the changing and more honest picture of learning disability whilst promoting people’s skills in a rewarding and positive way.

All entries must be from a person with a learning disability and you can either be the person who took the photo or be the person in the photo. It must have been taken in the last 12 months and be entered under one of 3 categories:

  • Get Me? – This category only includes photos of someone with a learning disability and must be entered in their name.
  • Artistic and creative – This must be a photo taken by someone with a learning disability.
  • Outdoors and nature – This must be a photo taken by someone with a learning disability.

The winning entries will be displayed at a public art exhibition. You can view your entry and everyone else’s at the Leeds Learning Disability Week Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/leedsldweek and ‘like’ your favourites.

The closing date for entry is 1st June 2016. You may enter up to 10 photos which must be sent by email to yourhealthmatters.lypft@nhs.net
