    Great Aspire Bake Off (Aspire)

    Today is your opportunity to enter the Bake Off competition. Post a photo of what you have cooked or baked to the Aspire CBS Leeds Learning Disability Week group on Facebook and let us know which category you are entering: savoury, sweet or healthy. All entries will be judged by a panel at Potternewton day service and the winners will be announced on Friday during Picnic in your Garden.

    Throughout the day we will also have three live cooking/baking demonstrations on either Facebook or Zoom during which people will be able to chat, comment and ask questions.

    If you live in Leeds, have a disability and are looking for work or courses and training to support you in to work, you are invited to come to the Through the Maze Ask Us Drop In to learn more about the new Being Employed Leeds accessible website.

    At this online event Luke will show you,

    • How to navigate the Being Employed Leeds website.
    • Different parts of the website that make it easier to read.
    • How to listen to the website if you find reading difficult.

    You will also be given a guided tour through the website explaining what each section is about and how it can help you.

    At the end of the website tour you will,

    • Have a chance to give your feedback on any changes or improvements that will make the website easier for people to use.
    • Ask any questions you have about finding a job or getting support to find employment.

    Walking, cycling, skipping, seated exercises … anything goes!

    Do an activity or activities anytime from 1st of June through to 15th June and post a photo video of yourself doing it to our Aspire CBS Leeds Learning Disability Week Facebook group on Tuesday, 15th June.

    Wear something yellow, adorn yourself in sunflowers or carry a picture of a sunflower.

    LEEP1 are building a window prop at Fabrication Crafts – a social enterprise and shop in Leeds City Centre that will go on public display during Learning Disability Week.

    The team are excited to reveal their window design to the shoppers and visitors of Leeds on June 15th.

    Live Arts & Crafts Tutorial – Salt Dough (Leeds Autism Services)

    Leeds Autism Services develop and deliver a whole host of fun and engaging activities in their bases from arts and crafts, cooking, nature and gardening to wellbeing and lifeskills.

    To celebrate learning disability week they thought they would host their own live arts and craft tutorial on Thursday, 17th June for everyone to get involved in.

    Join them on Zoom to make your own salt dough garden stakes and plant markers to add personality to your garden pots this summer.
